Kensington is a district of west and central London within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

Kensington is an affluent and densely-populated area, its commercial heart is Kensington High Street, and it contains the well-known museum district of South Kensington.

Kensington is served by three main roads, the most important of which is Cromwell Road (A4) which connects to the M4 motorway and London Heathrow Airport on one end and Central London on the other. 

To the north there is Kensington High Street which is part of Kensington Road, which links Hammersmith to Central London.

To the south there is Fulham Road which connects South Kensington with Fulham.

Public Transport

Kensington is served by three underground stations: South Kensington (District, Circle and Piccadilly Lines), High Street Kensington (Circle and District Line) and Gloucester Road (District, Circle and Piccadilly Lines)  all in the Travelcard Zone 1. The Piccadilly Line links to London Heathrow Airport in the west.


Many bus routes link Kensington to other parts of London and beyond. London Victoria Station is nearby and easily accessible by road and public transport.
